2025 Year-in-Review Impact Report
Building the Infrastructure to Win in 2026
Chairman’s Message
2025 was a defining year for the Nevada County Republican Party (NCRP).
We faced a high-stakes special election, sustained pressure from Sacramento legislation that continues to undermine rural counties, and an increasingly polarized political environment that often discourages local civic participation. Rather than retreat, Nevada County Republicans chose to organize, engage, and lead.
This report outlines twelve key accomplishments achieved during the 2025 calendar year. Each accomplishment was made possible by the dedication of grassroots volunteers, the generosity of committed donors, and the principled leadership of our Executive Board and Central Committee. Together, these efforts strengthened Republican turnout, protected local taxpayers, defended constitutional governance, and built a durable, professional election operation capable of competing—and winning—in 2026.
Speaking on behalf of my highly seasoned and talented Executive Board and Central Committee, we are proud to lead the Nevada County Republican Party. We are equally determined to meet the aggressive goals we have set for the 2026 election cycle and beyond.

12 Key Accomplishments in 2025
1. Local Republican Victories Sworn In
NCRP-endorsed Republican candidates won election in 2024 and were officially sworn into office in January 2025. These victories resulted in Republican representation being gained or retained across multiple levels of local government, including:
County of Nevada
City of Grass Valley
Nevada Irrigation District
Nevada Joint Union High School District
Pleasant Ridge Elementary School District
These wins ensured responsible governance, fiscal restraint, and conservative representation in institutions that directly affect daily life in Nevada County.
2. State and Federal Republican Success
The NCRP actively supported Republican candidates at both the state and federal levels. We also celebrated the return of President Donald J. Trump to the White House as the 47th President of the United States—an outcome that reinforced the importance of strong local party infrastructure contributing to national success.
3. Measure V Defeat Continues to Save Taxpayers
Measure V—a half-cent countywide sales-tax increase—was defeated in 2022 with NCRP leadership and coalition support. That victory continues to deliver real financial relief. In 2025 alone, Nevada County taxpayers avoided an estimated $10 million in additional taxation, funds that would have otherwise been directed toward unaccountable or non-essential government spending.
4. Republican Voter Registration at 2009 Highs
By the end of 2025, Republican voter registration in Nevada County reached its highest level since 2009. This growth reflects sustained outreach, consistent messaging, and renewed interest from independents and disaffected Democrats seeking practical, accountable governance. We proudly welcome these new voters into the Republican Party.
5. Statewide Conservative Leadership Events
The NCRP hosted a sold-out event with Steve Hilton, a leading Republican candidate for Governor of California, demonstrating strong local engagement and organizational capacity. We are also preparing to host Sheriff Chad Bianco, another top gubernatorial contender, in Grass Valley on March 1st. These events position Nevada County as a meaningful contributor to California’s Republican future.
6. Community Leadership During a Time of Tragedy
Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the NCRP organized a large public vigil attended by over 500 community members. The event provided a peaceful space for collective mourning, reflection, and reaffirmation of free speech and civic engagement. For many involved, it was among the most profound and impactful moments of 2025.
7. School Board Leadership Secured
NCRP-endorsed candidate Andrew Klein was elected President of the Nevada Joint Union High School District Board. Within his first year of leadership, district finances were stabilized, cooperation with educators improved, and compliance with federal education requirements was restored—protecting both funding and local control. We congratulate President Klein on his reelection and look forward to his continued leadership.
8. Permanent Republican Headquarters Established
In response to the 2025 special election, the NCRP opened a permanent headquarters at the Fowler Center. This headquarters serves as a centralized hub for:
Phone banking and voter contact
Door-to-door canvassing
Volunteer training and coordination
Voter education
Fundraising and candidate support
This facility now forms the operational backbone of our 2026 election strategy. Patriotic merchandise is also offered to the public in exchange for contributions that directly support party activities.
9. Petition Drives for Structural Reform
The NCRP led petition efforts focused on long-term structural reforms, including:
Voter ID in California
Strengthening Proposition 13
Term limits for the Nevada County Board of Supervisors
Signature collection continues for statewide initiatives, reinforcing the party’s commitment to accountability, election integrity, and taxpayer protection.
10. Turning Point USA High School Chapters Launched
The NCRP helped launch two Turning Point USA Chapters at Nevada Union High School and Bear River High School. These student-led organizations promote civic education, leadership development, lawful political expression, and viewpoint diversity, while operating in full compliance with school policies and federal equal-access law.
11. Proposition 50: Top-Tier Republican Turnout
During the Proposition 50 special election, Nevada County ranked 3rd highest among all California counties for Republican turnout, exceeding 70% participation. While the measure passed statewide, local turnout demonstrated strong grassroots organization and firm opposition to unconstitutional gerrymandering that disproportionately impacts rural counties.
12. Principled Opposition & Constitutional Accountability
The NCRP provided firm, visible opposition to City of Grass Valley Resolution #2025-03, standing consistently for constitutional restraint, fiscal responsibility, and equal protection under the law. The party continues to oppose antisemitism in all forms and remains committed to holding local government accountable—even when binding votes are lost.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The mission for 2026 is clear:
Recruit a Republican candidate for every open office
Expand voter registration and turnout
Support endorsed candidates with our growing infrastructure
Defend taxpayers, parental rights, and constitutional governance
The foundation has been laid. The work continues. Will you help us?
